Crew Weight Adjustments Wenden II - J 100 - Herb Schwartz wants 700# vs 1440# std. +3 Other Business American Girl - wants to replace a 135% jib with a 110%. No credit. Turning Point - NY 36 - replaced rudder bearings this winter. In the process, replaced wet core in stern, and re-aligned rudder with keel. No change. The committee to discuss boats converting to sprit poles and asymmetrical spinnakers made their report. They feel that each should be treated on a custom basis. If or when there are sufficient conversions that this becomes problematical, we can re-visit the issue as to whether we wish to standardize any adjustments. Kerry Klingler reported back on what change in rating IRC would make for the Beneteau 40.7 Ageless converting to just an asymmetric spinnaker on a 6' sprit. The current IRC rating with a 198%, 116 sq m chute is 1.074. The new rating with a 145% on a 6' pole, 123 sq m asym would be 1.069, or about 3 seconds/mile slower. Boats with only asymmetric spinnakers tacked on centerline were discussed. If asymmetricals tacked on the centerline at J are the only chutes and they are no larger than the equivalent symmetric spinnaker, there will be a +9 credit for W/L courses. The secretary will prepare a list of boats affected to be presented at the next meeting. The next meeting will be on March 8, 2007, 8PM, at the Larchmont Yacht Club. The meeting was adjourned at 9:11 PM. Respectfully submitted, |
