Cruising Adjustments

The YRALIS offers cruising and weight adjustments to those boats that request them.  These adjustments are considered on a case-by-case basis, upon application to the PHRF Committee. Cruising adjustments are intended to assist those boats that have made permanent modifications or that carry extensive additional equipment that compromises the boat’s performance.  While one change may not in itself warrant a cruising adjustment, it may be that the cumulative effect of multiple items may result in a change in rating.

Examples of equipment that has been added to qualifying boats includes:

  • An all-chain anchor rode
  • Air conditioning or multi-zone heating
  • Roller furling genoa and/or mainsail
  • Hard dinghy mounted on the coachroof

The presence of such items as a stove, hot water heater, or a second battery on boats that have this as standard equipments from the manufacturer is not considered as additional equipment.  Nor are tankage or consumable stores.
